Synopsis
Assigned to Lizzie McGuire as required reading during one of her school classes, The Orchids and Gumbo Poker Club finally puts into print this " lost classic," for which Lizzie fans have been fruitlessly searching since they saw Lizzie reading it during the " Mom's Best Friend" episode on Disney Channel's hit Lizzie McGuire television series. A " post-it" on the front cover of the book lets readers know this is Lizzie's personal copy. And humorous comments and doodles in the margins of the interior are all Lizzie's, too. Featuring a " scholarly" introduction, the book centers on Darcy Lou, a young woman living on the Louisiana bayou of the late 1940s, whose orchid-growing mother, Tallulah, and her mother's crew of eccentric Cajun poker-playing friends, work together like fairy godmothers to help Darcy Lou attend the lavish New Orleans ball of her dreams. A " lost classic," The Orchids and Gumbo Poker Club may not have been an Oprah Book Club selection, but it's sure to delight any Lizzie McGuire fan!, When Lizzie McGuire's teacher, Mr. Dig, asks all the girls in Lizzie's class to read a very special book, Lizzie is skeptical. But after she begins The Orchids and Gumbo Poker Club, she's so totally inspired by the mother-daughter relationship in the story that she starts her very own club with her very own mother. Now you can read the book that Lizzie loved. This edition even comes with Lizzie's own personal comments, doodles, and thoughts in the margins. Plus, it includes a scholarly introduction by Persimmon Pursniketi, Ph.D., the professor who helped the world rediscover this "lost classic." Book jacket.

- e***d (290)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaGreat price for this huge book. Shipping was delayed but not too unreasonable though the book could have been packed a bit better with some bubble wrap as it tore through the very thin mailer envelope. Would recommend seller to cushion heavy books better when using thin mailer envelopes to avoid the tearing and potentially loosing books. Book is as described! Satisfied with my purchase and would buy from again if packaging was more sturdy. Thank you :)
- p***r (142)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAs described ,nice price, quickly shipped but not in a padded envelope, nor with a cardboard padding inside a regular envelope, so corners of book were free to be bumped in transit. They were not. The book looked good even with a tear at one corner of the envelope. Both the seller and the buyer were lucky.
- s***k (122)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaHigh quality book arrived in good condition as described. The book's appearance is satisfactory. A great value! Shipping: Seller shipped promptly. But I received an eBay message saying: USPS made a delivery attempt but were unable to proceed due to an insufficient address. Huh? Also, shipping history said book was "Held at Post Office At Customer Request." I didn't request this to be done! Next day I went to my USPS office. They fished around & found package. My address was correct. Weird.Photographing People (Kodak No Nonsense Photography Guides) - O'Connor, Mich... (#156481824914)
