Though Kool & the Gang reigned as one of the finest funk outfits of the 1970s, the close of that decade saw the band expanding their sound with radio-friendly pop and disco influences. The result--a combination of slick production, R&B vocals, and infectious dance grooves--made Kool & the Gang one of the biggest-selling and most beloved pop acts of the 1980s. This concert film captures the band at the height of their success, performing live renditions of classic songs like "Ladies Night," "Get Down On It," and, of course, their signature anthem, "Celebration," in a fun, party-like atmosphere.
