Your computer will see your Momentus as though it were a solid-state block device with this attachment. It can write to it like an SSD, and you could even use it as a custom external drive in this manner.Since it works with any brand of machine that has the right jack, you can use your HN-M101MBB with an Apple laptop. It is compatible with both hard and soft links as well as the new APFS file structure. Since it provides full support for Windows and Linux devices, you can use these drives with PC laptops too. Small form factor desktop PCs will also boot from a Momentus volume.Gamers will love the fact that the excellent I/O numbers from this disk translate into low lag during gaming sessions. Install a Spinpoint volume as a wall against lag deaths when playing competitive FPS titles on your laptop. They are great for preventing load glitches that occur during video cut scenes as well. If you are into open-source games or downloading games from the internet, then this disk has a few features that will help you as well. You can install it in a second bay and use it as an additional disk for games alone. It will take any directory structure you'd like, so you can organize your new titles however you want.If you are having trouble getting a separate game console to recognize this drive, then you can create multiple volumes on it. Each time the device boots, it might be able to check the partition table for logical drives. If this is the case, then you can split the 1TB capacity into more than one volume. If your game console can view huge volumes but requires the FAT32 file system, then this device supports that as well. It is compatible with third-party Windows utilities that create large FAT32 volumes. It is also compatible with the mkdosfs command used by Linux. This allows you to prep this drive on a PC before putting it into a game console. Should your console require exFAT, this disk also provides support for this file system.
