Product Information
Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is a costume-drama dating sim, with supernatural themes, moments of macabre violence, a dry-witted young protagonist, and her multiple, developing love interests. The game plays as an animated "choose your own adventure" story, throughout which the player's decisions lead to different conflicts, resolutions, and ultimately, one of many possible conclusions. An attractive woman among a clan of young male warriors, the main character finds herself an object of both chivalrous admiration and carnal desire, whose decisions take on great consequence.<br><br>The story is set at the end of Japan's Edo Period, where a secretive fellowship of honor-bound warriors emerges in the political turmoil of fading feudal power. The main character -- called Chizuru by default, but re-namable by the player -- is traveling in search of her lost father, when she unexpectedly encounters the Shinsengumi. Pledged to protect the people from master-less samurai and other rogues, these vigilante soldiers take Chizuru into their fold, for her protection as well as their own. When it is discovered that the diverse group of strong young warriors is also looking for her enigmatic father, Chizuru's adventure truly begins.
