Turn-based combat meets farming as gamers help a boy stranded in an infertile land in Return to PoPoLoCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale. The action stars young Prince Pietro, a half-dragon who travels to the country of Galariland to see how its land has been destroyed by black beasts, and to learn a special spell that can prevent the same thing from happening in his home of PopoloCrois. But a transportation mishap leaves the prince stranded in an abandoned farm in Galariland, and to get home he must work with the locals to defeat the black beasts and rejuvenate the crippled land.<br><br>The main campaign in Return to PoPoLoCrois takes players to four different season-themed areas of Galariland, each ravaged by the black beasts, but also beset by their own specific issues. Gamers can grow and harvest crops, rear animals, mine for precious gems, catch insects, create items, and build relationships with the locals. Xseed suggest the combat, exploration, cut-scenes, and relationship-building of the main campaign offers roughly 25 hours of gameplay, though players can also while away the hours taking on dozens of side quests, exploring optional dungeons, and collecting more than 600 unique items. Gamers can choose from one English or two different Japanese voice tracks, they can boost or lower the enemy encounter rate to alter the difficulty level, and they can even choose whether characters should have a cel-shaded look or not.
