Reviews
'Barsky's groundbreaking book is of enormous importance to researchers in a wide range of disciplines who are concerned with the impact of technology, for good and for ill, on human bio-cultural evolution. The book is a major contribution to our understanding of this evolution and its implications for the 'progressive divorce from nature' that our cultural and technological development has entailed.' Synopsis
This book provides a concise overview of human prehistory. It shows how an understanding of the distant past offers new perspectives on present-day challenges facing our species - and how we can build a sustainable future for all life on planet Earth. Deborah Barsky tells a fascinating story of the long-term evolution of human culture and provides up-to-date examples from the archaeological record to illustrate the different phases of human history. Barsky also presents a refreshing and original analysis about issues plaguing modern globalized society, such as racism, institutionalized religion, the digital revolution, human migrations, terrorism, and war. Written in an accessible and engaging style, Human Prehistory is aimed at an introductory-level audience. Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the interdisciplinary, scientific study of human prehistory, as well as the theoretical interpretations of human evolutionary processes that are used in contemporary archaeological practice. Definitions, tables, and illustrations accompany the text., Offers a long-term evolutionary perspective on human culture and its relationship with technology. Provides a fresh perspective regarding important issues that plague contemporary society, such as racism, the digital revolution, human migrations, terrorism, and war. It will appeal to archaeology students in prehistory and human evolution courses.

- c***r (562)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaMost importantly, the condition of the book was as specified. Also, international delivery (from the USA to the UK) was prompt, and the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. Many thanks for that. In regards to the book packaging, although no cardboard was used, reasonably effective packaging (a "bubble mailer", plus multiple layers of "soft" packaging) was still implemented to protect the book during its international transit. Many thanks for that.Modern Trends in Strength Training (#135737457456)

The item as well was properly packaged but the condition was in way worse condition than listed probably was an honest mistake so I won’t blame them I’ve ordered from them before and they didn’t fail me then but this time was a dud. BUT they did refund me immediately no questions asked so that was a plus and a sign in my book of great customer service. Aside from my small issue with the items condition which was resolved quickly I had no problem A++El Sexto Sentido (CD + DVD) (#134971137986)
