Synopsis
In this important and compelling young readers adaptation of his National Book Award-winning title, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, writing with award-winning author Jason Reynolds, chronicles the story of anti-black, racist ideas over the course of American history. Racist ideas in our country did not arise from ignorance or hatred. Instead, they were developed by some of the most brilliant minds in history to justify and rationalise the nation's deeply entrenched discriminatory policies. But while racist ideas have always been easy to fabricate and distribute, they can also be discredited. In shedding light on the history of racist ideas in America, this adaptation offers young readers the tools they need to combat these ideas - and, in the process, gives society a reason to hope.Through a gripping and fast-paced narrative that speaks to young readers on their level, this book shines a light on the many insidious forms of racist ideas - and on ways anti-racists can be empowered to combat racism in their daily lives., Don't miss this "fresh and conversational" ( TIME Magazine ), "potent and provocative" ( The San Francisco Chronicle ), #1 New York Times bestselling exploration of racism--and antiracism--in America. This is NOT a history book. This is a book about the here and now. A book to help us better understand why we are where we are. A book about race. The construct of race has always been used to gain and keep power, to create dynamics that separate and silence. Racist ideas are woven into the fabric of this country, and the first step to building an antiracist America is acknowledging America's racist past and present. This book takes you on that journey, showing how racist ideas started and were spread, and how they can be discredited. Through a gripping, fast-paced, and energizing narrative written by beloved award-winner Jason Reynolds with research from renowned bestselling author Ibram X. Kendi, Stamped shines a light on the many insidious forms of racist ideas--and on ways you can identify and stamp out racist thoughts, leading to a better future. Value was great... The condition was as described. Seller shipped item(s) promptly, dropped off at the Post Office same day as order placed/payment went through, though it took 3 days past the longer "expected delivery" date - thanks USPS. The items were in a bubble mailer only, no additional packing material.

This Bible is in great shape. However, I would just ask and recommend to the seller to wrap your books with cardboard and some packing around them to help keep them from getting twisted in the packing. Shipping Companys don't care and just toss and throw things around. The shipment was fast, The Item was described as I was expecting it to be. I am very pleased with the item. The seller is great and I will use it again if they have what I need! Thank you very much !!!
