Synopsis
Praise for "Reflections "A tense final scene . . . to a disturbing case of mayhem in the wilds of Ulster." - "Publishers Weekly "White-knuckled suspense, startling twists, and a gut-wrenching climax make for an outstanding read." - "Booklist "Absorbing all the way to a stunner of a denouement." - "San Antonio Express-News Praise for "True Witness "The raw emotions, the fear, and the true horror of the story are redeemed by the integrity and loyalty of Daniel and Brodie, and the evolving character of Jack Deacon."- "Mystery News "In a novel full of well-developed, interesting characters, Bannister builds a complex case with plenty of surprises that will keep readers guessing about what really happened until the very end." - "Booklist Praise for "Echoes of Lies "Jo Bannister, who already has a solid series of British police procedurals under her belt, introduces a new sleuth with an original style." - "The New York Times Book Review "A new mystery series that's both fresh and different." - "Publishers Weekly, Brodie Farrell's life, on the surface, is unremarkable. A single mother to one daughter, five-year-old Paddy, in a small seaside town, she spends her days running a "finding agency"---helping clients locate items that have proved elusive by more conventional methods. She has a healthy relationship with Jack Deacon, a detective superintendent in the local police force, and a solid network of friends---except for one. Her most important ally, Daniel Hood, has been ignoring her since a bitter disagreement ripped their friendship apart at the seams. Now his house is up for sale, and Daniel has disappeared. At first Brodie is just angry---angry that he would leave without telling her, without trying to sort things out. But when Daniel's family seems unconcerned that he has vanished into thin air, Brodie starts to get worried. Perhaps she was the only person to care about Daniel, and she cut him off. What if he does something stupid? Or what if he already has? Unfortunately, even her advanced tracking skills can't locate her friend. Brodie's worrying intensifies when she seems to become the victim of a sustained hate campaign. First her car windshield is smashed, then the vehicle itself is set on fire. Her handbag is stolen, and she is terrorized in the local library after a call from Daniel imploring her to meet him there alone. The conclusion is obvious, but Brodie refuses to believe it. Until, that is, she is attacked again....

- v***v (2086)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.
