Amid a bevy of rap-metal bands that worship at the altar of Korn and Limp Bizkit, 3rd Strike emerged with LOST ANGEL to show that practitioners of the genre were capable of a sense of history that looked back further than last week. While fans of the aforementioned groups will probably warm right up to this hard-hitting quintet, 3rd Strike has just as much in common with the grunge-era polemics of Rage Against the Machine and the melodic, ultimately accessible punk-funk of (at this point) old-schoolers Red Hot Chili Peppers. Vocalist Jim Korthe can spout heated invective with the best of them (a la Zach De La Rocha), but he occasionally pauses for a carefully constructed melody. The rest of the band follows him measure for measure, finding just the right moment to leaven the sledgehammer attack with a bit of surprisingly tasteful sonic embroidery.

    I was a little unsure about ordering a CD from Australia to the UK in case of damage in transit. I need not have been concerned - the CD was so well wrapped in layers of bubble wrap that it would have needed a sledgehammer to damage it! CD was described as good but it looked like new with clean case and no marks to the disc. With fast delivery from Australia to the UK, this was a perfect transaction. Full marks to this seller, I coukd not be more pleased.
