Yes the dolls are meant to be children but that would make guitars BIGGER in relation to them, not smaller. It IS a beautifully made guitar but it is TERRIBLE size wise for an American Girl doll or any 18 inch doll. It just looks so tiny and ridiculous. If you want this just to have a replica then it's great and well-made. Also the pic should convey the real color.
