They are covers that go over the existing. That said, they are quite impressive. Do they look like the original leather? - No. Do they look nice? - Yes. Am I happy with them after installation? - Yes - very much! I recommend these if you are tired of seeing foam show thru ripped seams. I took my seats out of the car to install these. Very nice fit.
