2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is designed to enable gamers to take on the role of both manager and captain while working their way toward the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. With all 203 national teams that were part of FIFA at the time, gamers can represent their country and play with their favorite players or manage the national team of almost any other nation instead. It was developed by the EA Canada branch of Electronic Arts and is part of the EA Sports series of video games. Building off of the engine of earlier games, it offers improved dribbling and passing accuracy, making the game more realistic and rewarding to learn. Released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it offers realistic soccer gameplay.In the campaign of FIFA World Cup Brazil, the player will take the role of a manager trying to work their way through the qualifying rounds and eventually win the world cup tournament. With 203 teams and over 7,000 players to choose from, each would-be manager has an almost infinite number of paths to victory. This gives the game an immense amount of replay value since each playthrough is different. Gamers can make their own fantasy World Cup matches and results by playing smart and setting up key games as well as becoming skilled at manipulating the ball for the win.There are other game modes than the main campaign, though. Free play enables the national teams of any two nations to be played against each other. Online play enables Xbox 360 owners to match up against their friends or engage in random matchmaking to find opponents. For those interested in a more realistic experience, the "Road to Rio De Janeiro" mode enables gamers to take the role of Germany and attempt to re-create their success at winning the tournament. The Story of Qualifying and Story of Finals modes both enable players to re-create famous matches in Brazil.FIFA provided full licensing rights to EA Sports for FIFA World Cup Brazil. This means that the names and likenesses of all FIFA teams are included. Over 50 hours of actual audio and commentary for the games are included, enabling the announcers to make realistic calls. FIFA officials even make appearances in the game, handing out trophies to the winners and thanking them for competing. All 12 venues are accounted for with games being played in all of them over the course of campaign mode. Each venue has realistic crowd noises as well.FIFA World Cup Brazil is an extremely realistic soccer video game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. With many modes to choose from and every team that participated available, gamers can opt to re-create the spectacle of football or instead rewrite history with their choices. The game rewards the skill of the gamer, enabling them to change the outcome of a match by playing harder and carefully taking advantage of the shortcomings of opponents from all over the world.
