You do need to pay attention on how you cock your underlever spring rifle. If your like me ? I put the butt of the rifle on the top of my thigh which puts tension on the wings. If you do not space the wings properly for your thigh? The wings will (eventually through time of tension ) break where the wings attaches to the slide adjustment.
