This is because you have to flex the glasses every time you take them on and off as the ear pieces are curved. I have had same luck extending their life by using a heat gun to straighten the ear pieces.

The glasses arrived in great condition because they were carefully packaged. They are nice looking and have a quality look to them. The value cannot be over stated. The Seller is phenomenal! USPS made a mistake, maybe because many workers have been laid-off, and failed to deliver the package. I communicated with the Seller and everything was taken care of! Seller has ALWAYS delivered as promised/described in a timely manner. When I need readers, I don't even look anywhere but here... I've bought cheaper, but this seller's are better and last a good amount of time compared to the cheaper ones. I'm a contractor, so I do beat them up also. Great product and seller...
