If you would have read the description, then you would have expected it to be 1" as stated. The actual dimension of the key ring is there as well. It's a key ring so putting a pin in a key ring would result in the post sticking out, the back falling off or even the post breaking off. One would then complain the emblem fell out. Gluing it in is a much more secure method of mounting the emblem to the key ring.
