This antenna and its reel construction is similar to one I owned from Sangean, though a bit shorter and magnifies reception of short wave stations, though here in the US, station selection is not as abundant as overseas. Its plastic also looks a bit thinner than a Sangean, but it's sturdy enough for sheltered use, not exposed to sun!

Most of my shortwave equipment nowadays is made up of various Tecsun brand radios etc., for good reason. Tecsun is known Worldwide for their quality products.
