Olive barbs were in the levers, so all you need to do is remove the hose ends from the hydraulic hose (slight hassle). This was a really good value purchase, but don't expect detailed instructions. You have to really know what you're doing. Items appear to be genuine Shimano, but admittedly I don't have details on how to spot counterfeits. I can confirm that it works exactly as expected and would buy again.
