The Vivitar Circular Polarizing (PL) Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass and they also improve color saturation clarity and contrast. This threaded filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds for example. Vivitars polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot and they will provide protection for your lens while shooting. Vivitar filters are perfect for digital SLR cameras or traditional 35mm SLR applications including black and white photography. Modern lenses often have protection built into them as well as digital sensors however filters are commonly used to help protect the surface of the lens from scratches smudges dirt and other hazards. Using Circular PL Filters: A polarizer is different than most filters in that it is composed of two pieces of glass mounted independently inside a round frame so that one can be rotated relative to the other. As it is rotated it increasingly cuts out glare and haze. With an SLR you can actually observe this change through the viewfinder. Polarizers reduce glare from water glass or any non-metallic surface. You can also use a polarizer filter to darken blue skies. Polarizers come in two versions linear and circular and autofocus cameras will perform best with a circular polarizer.

    Quick shipment and good packaging. Item was a camera lense that did arrive on time but was damaged in shipping. By NO MEANS was it the fault of the seller as it was obvious mishandling by the shipper. Unfortunate as it is a beautiful lens in otherwise perfect shape and I was excited to try it out. Seller did issue a refund for the item, which is very much appreciated. Despite the shipping issue, a positive experience overall. I would certainly buy from this seller again.
