Synopsis
A sixth-generation North Carolinian, highly-acclaimed author John Ehle grew up on former Cherokee hunting grounds. His experience as an accomplished novelist, combined with his extensive, meticulous research, culminates in this moving tragedy rich with historical detail. The Cherokee are a proud, ancient civilization. For hundreds of years they believed themselves to be the "Principle People" residing at the center of the earth. But by the 18th century, some of their leaders believed it was necessary to adapt to European ways in order to survive. Those chiefs sealed the fate of their tribes in 1875 when they signed a treaty relinquishing their land east of the Mississippi in return for promises of wealth and better land. The U.S. government used the treaty to justify the eviction of the Cherokee nation in an exodus that the Cherokee will forever remember as the "trail where they cried." The heroism and nobility of the Cherokee shine through this intricate story of American politics, ambition, and greed. B & W photographs

- s***e (45)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe book, "The Unbreakable Brain," is better than "as described". It looks like a brand new, unused book in excellent condition, which makes it a super value for the cost. It was shipped in a protective package with free shipping, yet another super value! I am incredibly pleased with this seller, and they even sent me a coupon to buy four and get two books free. That's a fantastic gift and quite generous! Thank you for being an excellent seller!
- 4***4 (3230)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaFast seller shipping & received in less than a week. Well packed & protected in a sturdy box with 11 other books I ordered. The book, "The Ultimate Ocean Facts for Kids, Teens & Adults" is a soft bound chapter book that asks questions, gives interesting facts, & encourages additional reading. As described, the book will be perfect to spark interest in the classroom. Great eBay find & purchase at a super value price. Highly recommend this seller.
- 2***0 (320)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaExactly what I needed. As described. Fast shipping and arrived safely. Outer packaging sustained damage (multiple holes into the package), but fortunately no damage. If you don’t hate the USPS yet, just wait. Great value, significantly less than similar options on Amazon. Purchased for Christmas present. We are going on our trip of a lifetime next spring. Thank you for being a part of our adventures. Happy customer!
