Born to a Muslim Mandinka warrior Omoro Kinte and his wife Binta, Kunta was captured and auctioned as a slave in Annapolis, Maryland. This four-disc set miniseries chronicles his life and those of his descendants and is regarded as the third-highest rated U.S. television program ever. A winner of nine Emmy Awards, this drama miniseries is a must-watch.
