It was very easy to install (thanks to Dell) and all the cabling necessary to connect the drive was already in place on the motherboard. I use the legacy windows media player in Window 11 to rip cd's and selected a free version of a dvd player from the MS store. Everything works as intended and it's even faster than the cd drive I installed in my IBM 386 computer years (30) ago!

They work well. While my experience was ok, ill pay a few extra bucks in the future and buy new (as I have always done prior to this). I think it's worth it as a lot of things could have went wrong here; they just didn't this time.
