The 100 MHz bus speed of this chip was a 50 percent increase over the MHz of previous processors, and because it used the same CPU frequency, it offered a 10 percent increase in performance—ideal for power users who want to get the most out of their PC and need something that can handle intensive computing tasks. Because the AMD K6-2 processor uses a Super 7 socket, it’s compatible with older motherboards and desktop PCs.
