Unfortunately neither the original nor the replacement worked in any USB-C socket I tried, even though the sockets supported other USB-C devices perfectly. On inspection, the internal USB-C contacts in both these adaptors were covered by excess blue plastic, so it's not surprising that they didn't work.

If you're using it as intended (mine was to adapt dashcam power USB to USB C port in car) make sure the socket you are using supplies the voltage and amps that you need...! Not all power outlets in your car supply the same current.
