Synopsis
This volume confronts the denial of the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish government. It began in World War I, during the drive to transform the plural Ottoman Empire into a monoethnic Turkey. The essays examine the events from a variety of perspectives., The Armenian Genocide that began in World War I, during the drive to transform the plural Ottoman Empire into a monoethnic Turkey, removed a people from its homeland and erased most evidence of their 3000-year-old material and spiritual culture. For the rest of this century, changing world events, calculated silence, and active suppression of memory have overshadowed the initial global outrage and have threatened to make this calamity "the forgotten genocide" of world history. Fourteen leading scholars here examine the Armenian Genocide from a variety of perspectives to refute those efforts and show how remembrance and denial have shaped perceptions of the event. Many of the chapters draw on archival records and court proceedings to review the precursors and process of the genocide, examine German complicity, and share the responses of victims, perpetrators, and bystanders.

- _***i (66)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaGood shipping, packaging, and was as described. God value as well, especially with the content of the cd. I am happy to have found this cd of one of the most important animal activists. In the cd, Gary Yourofsky shares the moral imperative of granting animals their negative rights. Like the right not to be enslaved and murdered! He shares the vegan message, a message that in my view, grants animals the same rights as human beings if they were to be trait equalized.PETA Gary Yourofsky Liberator To Educator CD (#266689252823)
