Synopsis
As advanced in-space propulsion moves from science fiction to reality, the Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket, or VASIMR(R) engine, is a leading contender for making 'Mars in a month' a possibility. A paradigm shift in space transportation, this book is an in-depth and compelling story co-written by its inventor. It traces the riveting history of the development of the VASIMR(R) engine. This landmark technology is grounded in concepts of advanced plasma physics. It cross-pollinates ideas and disciplines to offer a new, practical, and sustainable solution for in-space transportation beyond low Earth orbit in the decades to come. Invented by the co-holder of the world's spaceflight record, astronaut Franklin Chang D az, the VASIMR(R) engine is developed by Ad Astra Rocket Company in its Texas facilities with NASA as part of the NextSTEP VASIMR(R) partnership. With adequate funding, the first spaceflight of the VASIMR(R) engine is imminent. Plasma rockets feature exhaust velocities far above those achievable by conventional chemical rockets. The VASIMR(R) engine is the most advanced high-power plasma propulsion system operating in the world today and it may place long, fast interplanetary journeys withinour reach in the near future., As advanced in-space propulsion moves from science fiction to reality, the Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket, or VASIMR® engine, is a leading contender for making 'Mars in a month' a possibility. - 1***1 (20)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaIt's on me for not reading the description of this being an ex-library copy. I was expecting it to be, but that's completely my fault. The product is exactly as described, in good condition and of good quality. Shipping was fast. Appearance good, no pages ripped and cover is not bent. It was sent in a bag instead of a box, though, which could have led to damage in shipping. Overall I'm happy and would buy from this seller again.El lado oscuro (Spanish Edition) (#156832766019)
- s***8 (121)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaThis was an ex-library book, as had been mentioned in the listing. Just a few stickers here and there; nothing that would make it hard to read this graphic novel. It was shipped fairly quickly! Although the packaging could have been better, it managed to survive intact, so I'm happy! Condition is pretty good and nothing's missing. All in all, an excellent transaction and I'd buy from the seller again!
- h***h (244)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaThe book was noted as in a very good condition. When I received it, it had several pages of underlining. I contacted the seller and send them copies of the pages. They apologized for their oversight and rectified the issue. I appreciate the prompt communication and rectification of the issue. thanks.
