Be aware this item is a chinese part and you get what you pay for. You have to be careful to make sure the 3.5mm plug is pushed in all the way and seated in the jack or the Tip (Pin2) and the Ring (Pin3) will be shorted together. I had to reinsert the plug several times before it connected correctly.
