Hungary Hungarian Red Cross Medal 20 Donations Gold Badge Blood Donor Class 1

When i first started collecting badges and medals, I noticed that they sold for alot more than Soviet items. the reason behind this is because of two reasons: 1) unlike the USSR, Hungary did not make badges for every holiday, city, state, tourist spot, anniversary, and government program...so they are much rarer; and 2)...they are all the highest quality. they are made with much denser metals (brass, copper, tin) and the enamel work is unrivaled in the Eastern Bloc. I am lucky to have aquired doubles of some Hungarian badges, so i am happy to help out other collectors by selling them for an inexpensive price.

this is a  "Blood Donations"  (or more literally translated "for blood giving") medal produced by the government of the Peoples Republic of Hungary. in a Socialist system, the idea of sharing and collectivization is the basis for all aspects of life. there are three classes to this medal: bronze for 10, silver for 15, and gold for 20. they are 1 1/2" by 1" and have red enamel in the cross and on the suspension.
