The SoftOn A filter creates a picture with a clear focus and a soft gradation. This effect is especially evident on an object with a point light source. A filter randomly arranging minute lens shaped like drops of water on the surface of an acrylic board scatters the light and results in a soft focus. The Pro1 filters have Hoya's Digital multi-coating which substantially reduces reflections on the filter surfaces which can improve your image. Reduced internal reflections mean a clearer image with greater contrast. This reduces flare, ghosting and increases light transmission. This will help give increased image quality when compared to cheaper un-coated and coated filters in certain lighting conditions. Other Features of this premium Hoya Pro1 Digital Filter Digital Multi-Coated - Filters greatly reduce the appearance of lens flare and ghosting caused by reflections. Black Almite Frame - Filters feature a black matte aluminum satin finish almite frame which reduces reflections. Black Rimmed Glass - These filters are equipped with black rimmed glass to reduce the chance of light reflecting off the edge. Low Profile Frame - Ultra thin filter frames to help avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses are also designed to hold a lens cap. Knurling Edge Frame - These filters are equipped with a straight knurling edge for non-slip, easy attachment and removal. UV Protected Case - Filter cases are UV protected to further lengthen the life of the filters. This filter is double threaded so another filter, adapter or hood can be mounted onto it. By purchasing one of these inexpensive protection filters you can protect the front element of your lens and reduce the risk of it being damaged, with minimal expense.
